The staff at HK Timbers all have a wealth of knowledge about potato storage boxes, timber vegetable boxes and other products and services we offer. Regardless of whether you are an existing customer or are simply considering using our products, we can offer advice and help on your specific requirements.
We have some general information below that we hope will answer some of your initial questions but don’t hesitate to call if you have any queries.
All boxes are printed with our HK Timbers logo as standard. This is positioned on the second board down, to the right-hand side, on both long sides of each box.
We can provide two types of personalised stenciling: a printed board and large painted stencils.
The traditional stencil is printed in black ink and can contain up to 30 characters (including spaces). It can consist of text, numbers, and punctuation symbols. The lettering is 75mm tall and usually positioned centrally, on the second board down, on both long sides.
If you’re purchasing a box that conforms to BS 7611, the British Standard information is also printed onto the second board down, to the left-hand side.
The other option is a large painted stencil, which can be done in a selection of colours and can include logos, icons or large initials. As these are bespoke, they can be any size and positioned wherever required, on each box.
If required, boxes can be colour-coded using water-based emulsion and/or numbered sequentially for additional identification.
We offer a flat packed solution, where we provide pre-assembled panels (sides, ends & bases) and all ironworks for final assembly by the customer. By purchasing flat packs, a significant haulage saving can be made.
We work closely with a selection of local and national hauliers so we can provide competitive rates to our customers. To maximise space and minimise cost, we mushroom stack boxes so more can fit on each load. On average, a standard flatbed load consists of 56 assembled boxes or approximately 130 flat packed.
As we offer the flat pack option, export orders are available. With a growing number of international customers, we’re more than happy to provide ex works and delivered overseas quotations/orders.
